GUTTERING

Guttering

If you’re looking for a local tradesman to repair or replace your guttering at your home or business, look no further than TMI Roof Coatings.

Fascia Boards, Soffits & Guttering

The point where the roof meets the outer walls of the building and is known as the roofline, the fascia is fitted along the roofline. The fascia board supports the bottom row of tiles and the guttering. The soffit board is fitted under the fascia board between the outer edges of the roof and the adjacent wall of the house. Guttering is used to collect rainwater from the roof and direct the flow of water to the downpipe and the drains.

Fascias and Soffits have traditionally been made of a softwood board, however in recent years this has been replaced with high grade uPVC as softwood has a tendency to rot. UPVC soffits and fascias are hardwearing and cope well with exposure to moisture. Wooden soffits are a popular rustic or period feature, but they are more likely to decay quickly, and threaten the integrity of the rest of the roof structure. TMI Roof Coatings provide a range of Fascia Boards, Soffits and Guttering to suit your needs.

Gulleys & Valleys

Valley & Gulley gutters are installed where either two main roofs meet, a roof changes direction or where a roof and a wall meet. Normally the gutters are sloping to allow for water to flow in to the drainage system of your house. Traditionally made of lead, other materials such as fibreglass and rubber are also used.
